Our Services
Introductory Session
An experienced educator will assess your student’s placement in the program while a tutor orients your child to their first lesson. We will share our observations of your child and discuss the services that will best meet their needs.
This service is free.
Individual Tutoring
An experienced tutor will guide your student through the steps to learning a new phonetic element. The tutor is trained to cue a child as needed to first encode (spell) a word and then decode (read) a word. Before moving on to a new drawer, the tutor will assess a reader’s ability to use the phonetic element, and give additional practice as needed.
A one hour session is $40 with a sliding scale rate available.
Mini Classroom
Once your student becomes familiar with the sequence of steps for each drawer, they may join a group of 2 to 3 students with a tutor. Here, they can work more independently and get help when needed.

Individual tutoring sessions will be necessary at first to orient your child to the practice of encoding and decoding words using phonics. Once your reader becomes more practiced in this skill, they can move on to the mini-classroom where the tutor will introduce new phonetic elements and assess competency before moving them on. Eventually, we find that students become even more independent and self motivated and need only to check in at a mini classroom session from time to time, while using the Lending Library with an adult at home.
A lending library to empower parents
Once your student has been oriented to the program and is working independently, parents have the option of tutoring the student. A training session will prepare you and a subscription to the lending library will provide the materials as you need them.
Subscriptions to our Lending Library are available at a rate of $20 a month along with an initial $50 deposit refundable with the return of all materials, parent training is available at a rate of $30 for two-hour training (sliding scale rate available).
